Oil - Gas University of Ploiești is "home" for many energy professionals, especially those in the oil and gas sector. This makes the workshop organized by Energy Employers' Federation in this educational institution has a special meaning for us. We want to be as close as possible to young people and provide them with interesting information that will convince them that a career in the energy sector and a career in Romania are ideal for them.
The speaker of this edition was Daniel Apostol, The General Director of the Energy Employers' Federation, who spoke to future energy professionals about career opportunities, but also about the right attitude to enjoy the doors that open right from the first years of their profession.
In his presentation to the Energy Employers Federation, Daniel Apostol mentioned the project Viitorul Energiei Viitorul Energiei emerged in response to changes in the market: more and more companies in the oil and gas sector are turning their attention to new technologies and becoming increasingly involved in the energy transition.
The experience of oil and gas companies is being leveraged in the development of new technologies for clean energy production. One example is geothermal energy harnessed through closed-loop geothermal systems, which builds on the solid expertise gained in the field of drilling. Daniel Apostol gave the students an introduction to this new technology, which is a testament to the resilience and willingness to innovate of the oil and gas sector.
We were pleased with the interest in the information we received during this workshop; the enthusiasm of young people is one of the fuels of our work and a strong motivating factor. We hope that our actions will be of use to them in the future and we plan to come back as soon as possible.
Such events would not be possible without the involvement of teachers, who seek to provide students not only with knowledge, but also with guidance in a future career such as the energy sector. We would like to thank Ms. Prodecan of the Faculty of Petroleum and Gas Engineering, Head of the Faculty of Petroleum and Gas Engineering, Prof. dr. Iuliana Ghețiu, as well as the entire management of the University of Oil and Gas in Ploiești for facilitating the organization of this event and the meeting with the students.
